Pine Bluff Wastewater’s Boyd Point Treatment Facility is being renovated throughout the summer and fall of 2010. The Wet Chemistry section will be enhanced as the building walls, floors and cabinets will be improved and the inside turns over a new leaf. A local firm has designed the upcoming new look that will give the functionality and new feel that this well utilized department needs.
The Wet Chemistry section has many components and areas of importance. ICP, TOC, Pre-treatment and the Incubator are all rooms housed within the Boyd Point Facility. Samples are collected from the field, then tested, stored and analyzed in the wet chemicals section of our Lab. A small staff with big results, 2,100 tests performed monthly and over 20,000 tests a year are performed within this lab area. EPA mandates that Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility must analyze the wastewater before it is released into the Arkansas River. This renovation will help PBWU continue its efforts to provide efficient, reliable service to all of our customers.
